It's the most common question we get during estimates. Both are great choices when installed correctly. The right answer depends on your budget, style and how you'll use the space.
Upfront cost
Poured concrete usually costs less to install than pavers. Stamped concrete closes some of the gap but generally remains below premium pavers.
Freeze-thaw performance
Colorado's freeze-thaw cycles are tough on any hard surface. Concrete handles it well with good base prep and control joints. Pavers flex with ground movement, and if a section heaves, individual pieces can be lifted and reset.
Maintenance
- Concrete: occasional cleaning; stamped concrete should be resealed every few years.
- Pavers: top up polymeric sand in the joints over time and pull the occasional weed.

Looks and design freedom
Pavers offer endless patterns, colors and borders. Concrete offers clean, modern lines, and stamped concrete can mimic slate, flagstone or brick.
Our honest recommendation
Want the best value and a big, clean surface? Choose concrete. Want maximum design options and easy repairs? Choose pavers. Many of our favorite projects combine both: a concrete patio with a paver border or paver walkway.
We install both, so we'll show you side-by-side options in your free estimate. Call or text (720) 572-0098.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which lasts longer, concrete or pavers?
Both can last decades with proper installation. Pavers are easier to repair section by section.
